"Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always."
I think, too often, we believe that our adversities are more formidable than the rest of those around us. This simply isn't true. We are all struggling. Maybe not with the same things, but we are all affected differently by different situations, so it is impossible to gauge the amount of pain someone is experiencing at any given moment. For this reason, we should all assume that everyone around us is fighting their own battle. And we should be kind to them.
To obtain beauty (true beauty... the kind that cannot be counterfeited by cosmetics or temporal medical practices), I think that all we have to do is be kind. Because you see, when you're kind to people, you find that you love them. And when you love people, you become beautiful. Because you become selfless. And selfishness is the root of ugly. Artificial beauty is frequently used as a crutch for ugly people. They try to compensate for their inner "ugly" by making-up the outside. But it doesn't work like that. Because that kind of beauty will fade. And then what are you left with? Just ugly. And no one wants to be ugly.
But if we can capture beauty - if we can spend our years finding true beauty rather than trying to please the world and simply cover up the ugly that we all have inside of us - we will remain beautiful. Forever. Because we will have developed a soul rather than just a body. And a soul is ageless.
Remember, beauty fades but ugly is forever.
Stay beautiful, friends.
